New Players

The Waverley Hockey Club has a diverse and rich culture that is open to new players of all ages and skill levels. We encourage new senior and junior players to join us, whether you are from Overseas, Interstate, another club or simply brand new to hockey.

New players are often attracted to the highly successful and competitive nature of the Waverley Hockey Club as well as the facilities it boasts. We offer a newly laid astroturf pitch, first class ground lighting, refurbished clubrooms, change rooms with hot showers, new indoor & outdoor PA system, large on-site parking, outstanding coaching and bar/canteen.

Waverley Hockey Club is situated in Ashwood which is in the Southern suburbs just off the Monash Freeway, around 20 minutes from the CBD of Melbourne city. It is a 10 minute walk from Holmsglen train station.

Winter Season – April to October
Summer & Indoor - October to March (break for Christmas and New Years period)

Seniors

The Men’s and Women’s units can cater to all skill levels and age groups. In 2009 Waverley will register 2 Veterans teams, 8 Men’s teams and 4 Women’s teams. Waverley holds teams in the top competition level in both the Men’s and Women’s being State League 1 competition.

Juniors

The Junior Unit boasts 20 teams in 2009 ranging from Under 9’s to Under 17’s, ranging in all levels of skill. The club also undetakes summer hockey and an outstanding Minkey programme.
