2010 Junior Registration Day
Posted January 7, 2010 at 7:37 am by Roger AndrewsThe 2010 Junior Registration day is to be held on Saturday 6th February from 10am to 2pm at the Waverley Hockey Club ground, corner Winbirra Pde & High Street Road Ashwood.
All current and new players in age groups from under 6 to under 17 are invited to the club to register for the coming winter season. Registering on this day is important as it allows the club to enter the correct amount of teams and make sure all players get a playing spot.
The 2010 Winter Season will commence on April 16 & 17. Any enquiries can be made via the website contact form.
I have a son that has just turned 11 (date of birth 22/01/1999). Does he qualify for the U11’s or U13’s? He participated in the summer hockey program in the black team. This is his extent of his hockey exposure. Can you also please confirm day and duration of both training and matches for 2010?

Hi John, your son would be U11 as he was 10 on Jan 1 2010. U11’s train Wednesday night at 5.40pm, matches are on Saturday morning at either 8.35 or 9.45 am. If you have any further questions please feel free to email me at rogerandrews@netspace.net.au

Please advise under which group would he play and training / match timings.

Our youngest son is interested in playing hockey. His birthdate is 28/2/2001. What are the training/match days and times for his age group?

If your son has none or very little hockey experience I would suggest he enrol in the Minkey program, http://www.waverleyhc.org.au/juniors/minkey. This is an excellent program which equips players with the basic skills to play and feel comfortable in a game of hockey. Minkey commences May 1st and is on Saturdays from 10.50am till 12.00pm at Waverley.
If has played previously, then we have U9 teams. U9s train on Wednesday 5.00 – 5.40, http://www.waverleyhc.org.au/juniors/training, and play on Saturdays at 9.45 am
