Metro 1 West

For the second time this year I find my self saying sorry for being lazy and not submiting the match reports.

Since the last time I wrote we have played 3 more games. 2 wins and a very very disapointing draw.

It started off with a game against Yarra Valley at Yarra Valley.

The game was the way it has been all year, with the panthers dominating possession but not being able to score. Half way through the second half we had a 2-1 lead but were able to let them back into the game with them scoring 2 more goals and winning 3-2. Was very pissed off about that result for a few days.

Next we had La Trobe Uni. They only turned up with 6 players so we got a walk over. Pretty boring so we joined our players and had a 10 on 10 game. The run was alright.

Next we went to Melbourne Uni to play them. Uni are currenlty last, and with a few players missing was hoping it went ok.

It kind of did. Missing the likes of hard running centre half Warren MOORE, Darryl SEEDSMAN, Chris CASTLE and Andrew LOUEY and losing replacment centre half Mark McLOUGHLIN to injury in the first 4 minutes didn’t help and reduced us to 11 players.

Passing was not good, not hard enough, not stick to stick enough. But we were able to score 4 goals and get a win.

Funny point to the game. They started with 9 players. After about 10 minutes they replaced thier goal keeper and were able to finish the game with 14 players. Interesting.

Goals to Jamie STAMMERS x 2, James SMITH and Mal SMITH.

Next week we welcome our missing player as we play the laddder leading Grensborough at home 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The metro boys need to win all of the last 3 games to make the finals. What makes it a bit harded is that we need 4th placed Kew to loose one game, even worse is that playing the 3 lowest teams. And if you thought that wasn’t bad enough then the 3 teams we play in the last 3 weeks are currently sitting 1st, 3rd and have a guess, thats right 2nd. Good luck to us.

Pennant B play right after us. If your not doing anything then come and support us.
