The growth the club has seen in recent years has been excellent. The growth is putting pressure on the facility which the the house committee and the unit presidents are working on.

The Executive has been very proactive in addressing the the issues that the terrific growth we are seeing is putting on our facility and developing strategies to move forward. We have met with State government and in conjunction with Hockey Victoria made a presentation to City of Monash as part of councils Active Reserve Startegy project project. The project was undertaken by council to ensure that Council has an evidence based and well articulated strategy for the provision, support and usage of sporting facilities across the municipality. We expect to be informed of the results of this project in the next 3 - 4 weeks.

If anyone wants to be part of this strategy group, please let me know

A good point you raise Roy, and a reason why we need to get as many people to complete this survey as possibly can to ensure that our voice is heard. The club has some big plans going forward however we are relying on council support to help us achieve our goal and grow the club to service more in the community. This issue was discussed at the AGM and we are awaiting council decisions on the future of sport and rec in the city of Monash and it is surveys like this that will help in their decision making process.

We have three children playing Hockey. Last year the hockey pitch was constantly booked so heavily that their teams were only allocated 45 minutes each week for training. This was simply not enough time which is why the club is forced to look at a deal with monash for this coming year. This option has the unfortumate result in taking people away from the club.

This is a great opportunity to voice our need for greater support for local youth and the limited facilities we are able to provide given the huge number of hockey players (and rate payers) this club supports. Suggest this link is forwarded by email to all club members to ensure we get maximum response.
