Waverley Stars on the way up!
Posted June 7th 2011 by Travis Brooks No CommentsThe Victorian Vipers recently completed the 2011 AHL season, Waverley were well represented with Emily Paton, Megan Berriman, Stacia Joseph and Renee Trost all playing well for Victoria.
The team eventually placed an unlucky 6th after finishing the round games in top spot.
As a result of some impressive displays throughout the tournament both Stacia Joseph and Renee Trost were named in the 2011 National Women’s Squad – a fantastic effort by both to fight their way back into 2011 squad.
Renee was also named in the upcoming Champions Trophy team which will take on the world’s best in the Netherlands on June 25th – Good Luck Renee.
The men’s 2011 AHL season starts this weekend, Timmy Wischusen, Steven Jarvis and Luke Young have been training furiously for the upcoming tournament which begins in Canberra this weekend. Good luck to both Timmy and Jarvo this weekend.
Congratulations to all the players mentioned above – great effort.
Also congratulations to the various players who have been selected in junior state and national squads in 2011. Waverley continues to be a strong breeding ground for the future stars of Australian hockey.
