Toni Cumpston and Andrew Steele will be holding a Coaches Workshop on Tuesday 21st of July at the Waverley Clubrooms, commencing at 7.00pm

The workshop is an open invitation for all current and potential coaches from all of the women’s divisions (seniors, juniors and minkey’s).

The topics to be covered by Toni will include: Systems, structures, positioning, designing and training drills.

Hockey Victoria Underage Fixture for 2009

The 2010 Junior Registration day is to be held on Saturday 6th February from 10am to 2pm at the Waverley Hockey Club ground, corner  Winbirra Pde & High Street Road Ashwood. All current and new players in age groups from under 6 to under 17 are invited to the club to register for the coming winter season. Registering on this day is important as it allows the club to enter the correct amount of teams and make sure all players get a playing spot. The 2010 Winter Season will commence on April 16 & 17. If you missed the announcement of the junior award winners at the presentation night then you can now find all the names on the awards page of the junior section. Congratulations to all those who received awards!

Summer Stix kicked off last Friday Night with 198, yes read again 198, juniors turning out on the night. Great job by the junior organizing group to have the large numbers turn out with many not having played hockey before.

Summer Stix is for current Juniors to play hockey during the “off” season and a chance for less experienced players or children who would like to try hockey “to have a go”. This competition is an opportunity to have fun, improve skills and new players to try hockey. So if you have a family member, friend, school mate or neighbour wanting to try hockey, please tell them about Waverley Summer Stix.

Players who register will be placed in a team of 8 in accordance with their age, we need players for the age groups stated below. Teams will play 15 minute halves on a one third of a normal ground size; indoor hockey rules apply, which includes no hitting. An attempt will be made to ensure that teams are evenly balanced with children of all standards with current players to assist/support new players.
