Summer Stix kicked off last Friday Night with 198, yes read again 198, juniors turning out on the night. Great job by the junior organizing group to have the large numbers turn out with many not having played hockey before.

Don’t forget to get down to the club on Saturday to support our top grade teams in their last regular season game. There will be plenty happening, with activities for the kids and out own Beijing bronze medallist Luke Dorner will be there.

Summer Stix is for current Juniors to play hockey during the “off” season and a chance for less experienced players or children who would like to try hockey “to have a go”. This competition is an opportunity to have fun, improve skills and new players to try hockey. So if you have a family member, friend, school mate or neighbour wanting to try hockey, please tell them about Waverley Summer Stix.

Players who register will be placed in a team of 8 in accordance with their age, we need players for the age groups stated below. Teams will play 15 minute halves on a one third of a normal ground size; indoor hockey rules apply, which includes no hitting. An attempt will be made to ensure that teams are evenly balanced with children of all standards with current players to assist/support new players.
