The Club

Waverley Hockey Club is one of the premier hockey clubs in Victoria.

Waverley caters for players of all ages and skill level, with top level senior mens and womens teams as well as junior teams from under 9 to under 17 age groups. Waverley also runs a Minkey program for children under 7 and below.

Since it’s humble beginnings in 1958 Waverley has risen to become a proud and prominent club throughout the Victorian competition. Over its history it has boasted seven Australian Representatives and has produced countless Victorian Representatives as well as VIS scholarship holders.

Apart from the traditonal competitive nature of the “Panthers”, Waverley also possesses a strong social scene that encourages participation within the club off the field. The entire club is very close-knit which further supports the retention of players through the ranks during their development in the club.

Waverley will enjoy the registration of over 34 teams in the Hockey Victorian competition in 2010, this cements Waverley as one of the largest clubs in Melbourne. Yet the club is constantly looking to introduce the community and new members to the benefits of a healthy sporting life, by joining an athletically team based sport such as hockey.
